Seahawks Cut Ties With Playmaker Before Bucs Game & Immediately Signs With New Team

Seattle, WA – The Seattle Seahawks continue to shuffle their backfield depth ahead of Sunday’s Week 5 showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lumen Field. The latest move sees one veteran depart and another step in.
Seattle announced it has released running back Khalil Herbert, who joined the team just two weeks ago, to make room for former Washington Huskies standout Myles Gaskin, who signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad this week.
The move was swift — and so was Herbert’s next step. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New York Jets signed Herbert just one day after his release, with rookie running back Braelon Allen placed on injured reserve.
