Three Top Coaches Reportedly Reject Giants Over “No-Win Situation” With 20–40–1 GM Joe Schoen
New York, NY – November 12, 2025
The crisis inside the New York Giants front office is deepening. After firing Brian Daboll and entrusting GM Joe Schoen with full control of the next head-coach search, the organization now finds itself in an even bigger mess.
Schoen, who owns a 20–40–1 record since taking over as general manager, has yet to prove that his long-term vision can deliver results. Team insiders say confidence in his leadership and roster-building strategy is quickly eroding within the franchise.
An NFL executive told The Athletic:
“Everyone sees Joe Schoen fighting for his own job. It’s hard to convince great coaches to join when even the GM’s future isn’t secure.”
Amid the turmoil, three of the Giants’ top coaching candidates — Klint Kubiak, Jesse Minter, and Kliff Kingsbury — have reportedly declined interview requests, dealing a massive blow to Schoen’s credibility and the team’s search efforts.
Klint Kubiak, who has transformed Sam Darnold into an MVP contender in Seattle, was the first to walk away, unwilling to join what one source described as “a front office with no clear direction.”
Jesse Minter, architect of the Chargers’ top-ranked defense, also backed out, preferring to stay focused on a playoff run rather than “inheriting a broken roster and fractured leadership.”

With three high-profile rejections already, New York’s reputation has taken another hit. Once seen as a model of toughness and tradition,
Texans Reunite With 1st-Round Bust After Eagles Release
Houston, TX – The Houston Texans have officially brought back a familiar face, reuniting with former first-round offensive lineman Kenyon Green just days after the Philadelphia Eagles released him in a roster shuffle involving wide receiver Xavier Gipson.
Green, drafted No. 15 overall in 2022 out of Texas A&M, was once projected as a cornerstone for the Texans’ offensive line. Instead, injuries and inconsistent play defined his early years, leading to his departure.
The 24-year-old lineman had a brief stint with the Eagles in 2025, bouncing between their active roster and practice squad. Despite flashes of potential, Philadelphia ultimately cut ties, leaving his NFL future uncertain.
Now, the Texans have stepped back in. According to league sources, the team signed Green to a one-year deal, viewing him as low-risk depth with upside given his age and prior starting experience in Houston.
In 2024, Green appeared in 12 games for the Texans with nine starts at left guard. While he struggled in pass protection, his run-blocking metrics showed improvement, keeping his name alive among offensive line-needy teams.
Texans general manager Nick Caserio reportedly values Green’s familiarity with the system and continuity alongside younger linemen. “We believe Kenyon still has the tools to contribute if used properly,” one team source told local media Friday.
The move has drawn mixed reviews among fans. Some see it as a second chance for a homegrown pick, while others call it a desperate reunion with a player who never lived up to expectations.
For Green, the return offers redemption. After stops in Philadelphia and multiple releases, he’ll again suit up for the franchise that once invested a first-round pick in him, hoping to finally justify the selection.
